Design your own custom engagement ring in 3 easy steps

We hear you, you’d love to design your own engagement ring to completely wow your honey, but…. You are not creative, you don’t know a thing about jewelry, you don’t have the time to learn about jewelry, oh and yes most important, you are not a goldsmith. But don’t stumble over all the roadblocks you are throwing for yourself and accidentally end up on one knee.

By following these easy steps you can design your own custom engagement ring. The only thing left for you to do is: pretend you are tying your shoelaces, look up, show the ring and ask the ultimate question: will you marry me?

Step 1: Know the size of your fiancé’s hand

You will need to know the size of your beloved’s hand for two reasons: ring size and ring width. First about the size. It may seem obvious, but it’s extremely important to know your fiance’s ring size. Please don’t just guess and have it changed later, because with the unique face profiles that will be crafted into the ring, that won’t make the ring prettier.

Try to steal one of your loved ones rings and measure its size. If needed you can use our international ring size conversion chart to convert the size to millimeters.

Then there’s ring width and that’s a bit more tricky. You can imagine that a big and sturdy ring looks cool on a tough bloke, but looks way too heavy on a fair lady’s hand. If your honey already wears rings, see what style they are and try to match that. Your ring from jwlzz can be anything from 4 to 10 mm width.

To do:

  • Find out your lovers ring size
  • Decide on the width of your ring

Step 2: Know what your fiance loves

This shouldn’t be too hard right? Again, there are two thing you need to decide upon: color and face profiles. Jwlzz’s rings are available in yellow, white and rose gold. This is obviously up to your personal taste, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Generally speaking, white metals look better on those with cool skin tones. Warm skin tones match better with yellow and rose gold.

Select your favorite profile

Now comes the best part, this is what jwlzz is all about and what is going to make your custom engagement ring truly unique: the face profiles. You can add up to 6 face profiles to each ring. For an engagement ring it is cute to just do the face profiles of the two of you and the kids if you have them.

But you can add parents, brothers, sisters, or grandparents profile outlines as well. If you feel like it, you could even your best friends, neighbors or the presidents face profile to the ring. Though we’re not completely sure about the legal issues when one would seriously consider that last suggestion. Point being; you can incorporate pictures of anyone your loved one loves.

To do:

  • Decide on the color of gold for the ring
  • Pick 1 up to 6 face profiles for the ring

Step 3: Get en profil shots

This is what jwlzz is all about, adding face profiles to a ring so you have a unique and personal piece of jewelry. Once you decided on width, size, color and the number of face profiles, we will make a personal account for you in which you can add the en profil photos.

The pictures should be taken with a neutral face (sorry, no smiling) and be unobstructed by things like hair or glasses. After you’ve uploaded the pictures you seal the deal and wait for your custom engagement ring to arrive.

To do:

  • Upload en profil photos
